A Comprehensive Development System
CAAELP offers a suite of professional learning resources that support educators working with English learners with the most significant cognitive disabilities.
Based on the Alt ELP standards and rigorous research, our professional learning sessions equip content and language educators with the best assessment and instructional practices for English learners with the most significant cognitive disabilities. If you’re interested in learning more, we’d love to hear from you — email us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
As part of the CAAELP project outreach initiative, 14 professional learning sessions geared toward English learner, special education, and assessment educators/consultants will be developed. The sessions will also be of interest to mid-level or district-level technical assistance providers/consultants and speech pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, inclusion specialists, and other content experts. The sessions will be offered through our member state Communities of Practice and cover pertinent topics such as the Alt ELP standards; assessment design; identification of English learners with the most significant cognitive disabilities; Alt ELPA accommodations; assessment accessibility and Universal Design for Learning; and informing student instruction with assessment data.
