CAAELP Communities of Practice

Realizing a More Equitable Assessment System

At long last — a nation-wide and state-deep community dedicated to the assessment of English learners with the most significant cognitive disabilities.

Realizing a More Equitable Assessment System
What?

What?

CAAELP Communities of Practice (CoPs) go beyond a single task. These peer-to-peer groups — developed and facilitated by educators and administrators — collaborate to build a comprehensive, active learning community within each state.

Why?

Educators, practitioners, and families need more support to better serve their English learners with the most significant cognitive disabilities. This is where CAAELP CoPs come in. Through collaborative problem-solving, they provide the knowledge and resources needed to assess these students’ unique communication needs more fairly.
